The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) has appointed Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi as the Acting Chairman to temporarily replace Arsjad Rasjid. Arsjad officially took leave after accepting the position as Chairman of the National Winning Team (TPN) for presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo. Yukki, in his role as Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, expressed respect for Arsjad’s decision.
“Kadin Indonesia respects his temporary absence and adheres to the regulations in place at Kadin. Kadin must remain free from conflicts of interest,” Yukki said in an official statement on Wednesday, September 27.
Previously, Arsjad announced that starting Wednesday, September 27, 2023, he would take leave from his positions as President Director of PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) and Chairman of Kadin Indonesia.
“Effective Wednesday, September 27, 2023, I have decided to officially join as Chairman of the National Winning Team (TPN) for presidential candidate Mr. Ganjar Pranowo,” Arsjad stated in an official release on Tuesday, September 27.
After formally accepting the appointment, Arsjad said that joining the TPN is a way to contribute to Indonesia’s future. He aims to ensure that long-term agendas in the context of economic and investment policies promoted by President Joko Widodo and his predecessors can be properly implemented. He explained that he took leave from his corporate roles at Indika Energy and Kadin to uphold neutrality and good governance.
“This decision is to avoid mixing organizational matters at Kadin Indonesia with my role at PT Indika Energy Tbk. I convey this statement to all family members and the media. I ask for prayers, blessings, and support in carrying out this assignment. I hope we can continue to prioritize peace and national unity to create a conducive environment for development. May Almighty God bless our journey,” Arsjad Rasjid said.
During his tenure as Chairman of Ganjar’s TPN, Arsjad’s position at Kadin will be temporarily handled by the Acting Chairman, in accordance with Kadin’s bylaws. Meanwhile, the management of PT Indika Energy Tbk will continue according to its own corporate bylaws and governance.
