The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations Regional Asia Pacific (FIATA RAP) continues to promote the expansion of collaboration networks among logistics players. This expansion is carried out by organizing various events to introduce the B2B meeting concept and to encourage its members to adopt this approach.
Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, Chairman of FIATA RAP, stated that this program is important to respond to the increasing flow of container trade. According to him, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of life. Changes in demand, for example, have created new alternatives in fulfilling needs. Even the way people purchase goods has altered production processes on the other side of the supply chain.
“FIATA RAP has encouraged all members to respond to these issues and to take adaptive steps in the logistics business,” Yukki told reporters on Tuesday (8/11/2022). He also acknowledged that almost all sectors, including logistics, have adapted to adjust to the pandemic conditions.
The rapid adaptation by logistics companies is also driven by the increase in goods production, fueled by rising consumption levels in the Asia-Pacific region. This growth in production and volume has become a key factor in accelerating post-pandemic economic recovery. The rise in production and consumption levels has also impacted logistics activities. According to Yukki, logistics is the lifeblood of economic development. Therefore, logistics services should continuously adapt to the latest developments.
Yukki highlighted several issues significantly impacting logistics services, including e-commerce growth, cold chain distribution, environmental concerns, and digitalization. “This is why FIATA RAP continues to organize events to help logistics players grow together while facing these challenges,” he explained.
He further revealed that FIATA RAP is in the process of enhancing the network among logistics players by organizing B2B meeting concepts. This initiative will boost the scope of logistics services and encourage logistics providers to implement technology applications. By doing so, the recovery of logistics businesses post-pandemic can proceed more quickly.
According to Yukki, FIATA RAP also strives to encourage every logistics company to continuously improve their level of service.
