Chairman of the Advisory Board of ALFI, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, has been elected as Senior Vice President of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations). His appointment marks a historic milestone for Indonesia’s logistics and supply chain sector, as Yukki becomes the first Indonesian to hold a leadership position in the world’s largest logistics and supply chain association.
The election took place during the FIATA 2025 Electoral General Meeting (EGM), held on October 10, 2025, in Hanoi, Vietnam. With Yukki’s appointment, Indonesia gains a strategic opportunity to voice its position on various global logistics and supply chain issues.
For context, FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) is a non-governmental organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, representing more than 150 countries, 111 logistics associations, 6,000 individual members, and over 40,000 multinational companies. It plays a key role in promoting freight forwarding and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
“With the mandate as Senior Vice President of FIATA, I hope to make a significant contribution in representing the interests and voices of Indonesian companies at the global level,” said Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi.
This role is particularly important as FIATA serves as an official representative in major international logistics forums, including the United Nations (UN), World Customs Organization (WCO), World Trade Organization (WTO), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Yukki emphasized that Indonesia’s strategic position within FIATA can help enhance the country’s influence on key global supply chain issues and shape the future of trade and logistics.
“Indonesia’s active participation in international forums such as FIATA can strengthen the competitiveness of the national logistics sector amid evolving global dynamics,” he added.
The FIATA 2025 EGM also conveyed an important message amid increasingly dynamic global trade conditions, reaffirming FIATA’s commitment to its core functions. These include developing global standards for logistics documentation (such as the FIATA Bill of Lading), promoting international regulatory harmonization to facilitate global trade, providing global certification and education programs (FIATA Diploma), and serving as a bridge between logistics and supply chain businesses and governments worldwide.
The global FIATA leadership structure elected at the 2025 EGM is as follows:
Secretary General: Keshav Tanna (India)
President: Thomas Sim (Singapore)
Senior Vice Presidents: Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi (Indonesia), Jens Roemer (Belgium), Nadia Abdul Aziz (UAE)
Treasurer: Neil Taylor (Chile)
