Participants of the 6th National Congress of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI), held in Jakarta, unanimously re-elected Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi as the association’s Chairman for the 2018–2023 term.
In mid-November 2018, Yukki was also elected for the second time as Chairman of the ASEAN Federation of Forwarders Associations (AFFA) for the 2018–2020 term during the 28th AFFA session held in Cambodia.
At ALFI’s 6th National Congress, Yukki received unanimous support from all regional representatives (DPW ALFI) across Indonesia to lead ALFI for the next five years.
“Logistics systems are one of the key indicators in a country’s economic competitiveness. Therefore, improvements in supply chain logistics can boost GDP growth by up to 5% and increase exports by as much as 15%,” he said during the Congress, themed “ALFI Ready to Build a Digital-Based Supply Chain to Enhance Competitiveness”, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
He highlighted that e-commerce in Indonesia has been continuously growing over the past five years and is expected to continue expanding over the next decade. “If e-commerce reached US$1.68 billion in 2015, it is projected to hit US$46 billion by 2025,” he stated.
According to Yukki, the growth of Indonesia’s logistics sector has nearly doubled the pace of national GDP growth, underlining the need for continuous infrastructure development. He emphasized the importance of logistics businesses being fully prepared to adapt in an era shifting from economic scale to economic speed.
